Terrain awareness

The Garmin TAWS (terrain awareness and warning system) is an optional feature in the Cessna Caravan Turboprop Airplane to increase situational awareness and enhance safety by helping reduce the risk of controlled flight into terrain (CFIT). With this option, you will both see and hear alerts from the system when your aircraft comes within a certain altitude threshold from any terrain or obstacles. This Class B–certified awareness system will give you a valuable extra margin of safety when you’re in the air.
